Beginner group courses are designed to be a fun and informative way to introduce you to tennis. While learning the basics in the first few weeks, be ready to end the course playing competitive, fun games  against your new friends. These courses happen regularly and are our Hot Pick if your picking up tennis for the first time.

Week 1: Introduction and Basic Techniques

🎾 Let's get started! Learn the basics of tennis, including how to position yourself on the court, hold the racket, and move efficiently with the split step. We'll also cover the essential forehand groundstroke technique.

Week 2: Groundstrokes and Court Movement

🎾 Time to practice your groundstrokes! Develop your forehand and backhand techniques while focusing on footwork and weight transfer. Get comfortable moving along the baseline and hitting consistent shots. 

 

Week 3: Serving and Returning

🎾 Serve it up! Discover the fundamentals of serving, from the grip and stance to the ball toss and swing. Learn how to return serves confidently, positioning yourself for successful shots. #ServeAndReturn 

Week 4: Volleys and Net Play

🎾 Let's explore net play! Master the art of volleys, both forehand and backhand. Practice your technique and learn where to position yourself at the net for effective play.

 

Week 5: Overheads and Specialty Shots

🎾 Take your game to the next level! Work on overhead shots, focusing on timing and power. We'll also introduce specialty shots like lobs, drop shots, and slices to add versatility to your game. 

 

Week 6: Game Strategy and Match Play

🎾 It's time to strategize! Understand the basics of game strategy, including court positioning, shot selection, and tactical decision-making. Put your skills to the test in simulated match play scenarios.
